Of course American Idol (AI) had to open the season with “bikini girl” “untalented singer with afro” and “scary singer with greasy hair who later required medical attention”…this is what everyone has come to expect from AI at least for the first 3-5 episodes each year. There will always be a part of America that appreciates the talentless as much as the talented. Either way – it’s entertainment.
In general, I am not for publicly humiliating people, ridiculing and belittling people beyond belief – that’s poor taste. But, when you voluntarily come out to be judged on a show, you kind of open yourself up to all criticism. The first episode altercation between Kara and bikini girl was priceless. Kara demonstrated how a certain song should have sounded and wow! Kara has a great set of pipes.
This immediately turned my attention to Paula who definitely pales in comparison to Kara who is full of spunk, personality, and can put Simon in his place without using her middle finger (yes, Paula did that). So I will keep tuning in each week, gleefully waiting for good things to come and fully expecting that next year the panel will be back down to three judges and perhaps Paula won’t be one of them. I can hardly wait for the next episode!
