I am on the fence about this show, in theory, I should like it as much as the Deadliest Catch, but I don’t. I think the characters are not as intriguing for one, and for two, nothing really big seems to happen.

Not that I want to see anything happen to anyone or see anyone get hurt, but there is absolutely no action to this show. Just men driving in a truck, you get a birds eye view of them in the cab of their truck as they chain smoke and swear and basically confirm what we already know about truckers - they are rough around the edges and have families they are supporting back home - duh.

One person I find extra annoying is what me and my husband refer to as “lispy Rick”…he is the perpetual “whiner” of the group. He whines because his truck bounces too much, it’s too cold, he’s too hungover, he’s hauling trash, he’s not treated like all the other guys…well Rick, maybe if you would quit whining like one of the women, you’d be treated like “one of the guys”..I think I have bigger kahunas than this guy.

Unfortunately for Ice Road Truckers, Rick’s whining is not enough fodder to keep me tuning in week after week. This t.v. show is a definite waste of time and should only be watched if there is nothing else on and you feel like picking on a guy who whines with a lisp.
