Movie Review: Twilight
I will start of by saying that at first I was not interested in watching this movie at all. It looked like a Vampire movie made for teenagers, not my thing. I changed my mind when a few people I know seen the movie and said it was pretty good.
Twilight is a movie about Vampires that live in peace with humans and live on animal blood. One of them falls for a human girl and introduced her to his “family” and how they live. While at an outing with his “family” another group of vampires discovers she is not one of them and decides to go after her. The “family” protects her and tries to keep her safe. Most of the movie focuses on their developing relationship and him resisting his urges.
I actually really liked this movie and how it was done. The high school scenes were a bit cheesy and unrealistic, if that is how high school is now a days then it has changed a lot since I left and makes me happy I’m not there anymore. The rest of the movie is done very well, with a fairly strong script but it does feel rushed. There is very little violence and almost no blood and gore in this movie. I liked the fact that it gave a whole new perspective on a vampire movie that I can’t remember being done before, at least done well. They also did a lot to develop the characters and kept a love story feel throughout the movie; normally I am big on action and violence but am glad this movie went the other way.
Overall I give this movie a 7/10 which is good for an overdone subject done in a way I normally would hate; I may even watch it again.
