Movie Review: Zack and Miri Make a Porno

The title alone made me think “I don’t want to watch this” – but under peer pressure from my husband and cousin, I relented.  This movie is hilarious.  It stars Seth Rogen (Knocked Up) and Elizabeth Banks (Fred Claus) with cameo appearances by numerous others that are Seth Rogen and Director Kevin Smith’s followers.

The movie is set in modern day with two struggling 20-somethings who have been boy/girl best buds their whole life.  Falling on very hard times, they decide to make a porno to earn some extra cash.  This is definitely not a family friendly movie but would be hilarious to watch with other couples (especially if there are an “friends turned marriage partners” in the group) or even a just guys or just girls group.

I don’t think it looks like the kind of movie that would have a sequel, which is why I like it even more.  Definitely worth renting/buying the movie, especially if you are a fan of Kevin Smith’s work.
