What is that burning smell? Oh, it’s just my face!
That was the thought I had running through my head when I recently used my burt’s bees blemish stick. Normally I am a huge fan of the BB products. Not in this case.
Had I researched the ingredients beforehand, I would have known to put this product down and walk away. It contains tea tree oil, which I have chewed on before (toothpicks) and it tastes exactly as if a pine tree had taken a crap in your mouth.
Now why would I want that on my face?!? Aside from all of that – the container was messy and the contents were very liquidy, so calling it a blemish stick is not real accurate. It didn’t get rid of my blemish, it simply created dry flaking skin all around the blemish.
For what I paid for the blemish stick, I could have gotten 6 tubes of the Burt’s Bees chapstick that I dearly love. Next time I will do just that.

I just got one of these, unfortunately AFTER I read this review lol! My guess is that the tea tree oil is what zaps the zits. It is pretty effective as a germ killer or what have you. I’ve been putting it on my nose at night, hopefully to get rid of blackheads. I haven’t had a zit in awhile so I can’t really give a testimonial on how well it dries up a zit overnight.
I think it’s the alcohol that burns though.
