Review: Weather Everything Mascara

So lately I’ve been sampling various products from the world of “mineral makeup”….this was after my initial post on how mineral makeup is taking over the world.  So what do I do? Promote their cause by buying their product (shaking head, sad).  Some of the products I’ve tried are ok, I tried both real I.D. Bare Minerals “Bare Escentuals” makeup and knock offs.

The first thing I tried that I did NOT like was the I.D. Bare Minerals “Weather Everything” mascara.  It promises to survive a multitude of weather, apparently up to and including hurricanes :) I bought into this idea because what gal doesn’t want to look glamorous while trudging into work through 2 feet of snow? I gleefully made my purchase on ebay for a steal at only $8.15 including shipping.

Normally this mascara would run approximately $17 a tube.  My feelings on it? It isn’t worth the $8 I paid, much less $17.  Now, if you have naturally long, curled, thick, lovely lashes and you are merely looking to stiffen and darken them up and have them not flake, smudge, or otherwise have the color come off during inclement weather – then this is the product for you.

However, if you need a little help in the eyelash area (length, curl, thickness) then this product will not work.  It will darken and stiffen your otherwise stubby lifeless lashes and leave them that way.  To me, a good mascara succeeds at more things than just not coming off.

So yes, you can purchase this product and “weather everything” in it, but you will be doing so with short, stiff, lifeless eyelashes my friend.  If anyone else has tried this and had a different experience, please share, maybe I purchased a bad tube or something.
