My wife got some information about Johnson & Johnson using toxic chemicals in their baby products. We thoughtthat it was some angry person trying to hurt the company, after all it is Johnson & Johnson, they are a staple in any parents house.
We found a website www.cosmeticsdatabase.com that gives you all the ingredients to basically every shampoo,body wash, soap, and cosmetic product there is. The site also tells you what the ingredients are and the effects they have on you and your family. For example Johnson baby shampoo, the one we all used on our kids and had used on us, has a product QUATERNIUM-15 in it. This is a form of FORMALDEHYDE and causes or contributes to many issues in children. That is just the tip of the iceberg, my wife kept looking and found a lot of products your whole family uses are moderately to severely bad for you.
Most of the products we use are not regulated for safety and the regulations they do have are so full of loopholes that you can still basically use whatever you want. The products in our household are pretty much all bad and we are going to use the lists from the website to go purchase better products for our family. The information we found on these products was backed up by other sources so I believe it to be true and don’t wish to chance it anyways.
I know most of these products have been used for longer than I have been alive and with the exception of being fat there is nothing major wrong with me. What if I Was supposed to be smarter or am now more likely to get cancer because of these products being used on me? I want to give my kids every possible chance and advantage I can so if changing products helps, I’m all for it. I would strongly urge people to research your products and make up your own mind on what to do, I just don’t like the idea of tear free shampoo causing brain damage in my family.
